Somaly Mam was sold into slavery as a child and coerced into prostitution. Today, Somaly rescues young women from similar horrors, providing shelter, health care and education. She has been recognized globally, named by TIME® Magazine as one of the 100 most influential people of 2009, is a recipient of Glamour Magazine’s 2006 Woman of the Year Award and was featured as a CNN® hero.
Guy Jacobson is the director of the critically acclaimed film HOLLY, which helped launch a global effort to combat the slavery of women and children. He has been honored by the U.S. State Department as a Global Hero. He works tirelessly to raise awareness of the global epidemic of child sex trafficking and exploitation.
Martina Vandenberg is a partner in the Litigation Department of Jenner & Block. Her extensive pro bono practice represents victims of human trafficking. She has been honored with the Albert E. Jenner, Jr. Pro Bono Award for her work representing human trafficking victims and for her legislative advocacy efforts to combat human trafficking.
