Target Audience:
Librarians who need to know about the options and elder law resources available to serve their patrons or to make personal decisions Learning Outcomes:
1) Participants will be able to identify relevant information resources.
2) Participants will be able to evaluate alternatives and make informed referrals or decisions.
Ellen M. Klem, Associate Staff Director of the American Bar Association Commission on Law and Aging, is a recognized expert on the resources available to older Americans, as well as the challenges facing them. She will describe the various options available to older people including those which require advance planning, such as long-term care insurance. She will then describe the information resources available so that attendees can make useful referrals as well as timely and informed decisions for themselves and others.
