1) Participants will be able to explain how the Washington Affairs Office works with AALL members to infl uence policy.
2) Participants will be able to identify and use web tools effectively to track and take action on information policy issues.

How can you influence members of Congress to address the needs of law libraries? It starts with making contact! The AALL Government Relations Office offers many resources to help keep you informed about the latest information policy news and provides you with the tools you need to build relationships with your representatives. Come learn about the resources we offer to help you become an effective advocate for law libraries! Find out how to stay up-to-date with the Washington Blawg, where you’ll discover policy news, relevant events and resources. Learn about our Advocacy Listserv, which offers the latest updates from the Government Relations Office and can connect you with your colleagues. Explore different ways to take action on urgent alerts and why we rely on you to make your voice heard! We will also explore some Web 2.0 resources offered by other nonprofit organizations that can help you track and research legislation, using web tools such as mashups and tailored RSS feeds.
