Target Audience: 
AALL members who want updates on government information policy issues, including the work of the AALL Government Relations Office; all librarians who are interested in information policy and legislative advocacy
Learning Outcomes: 
1) Participants will be able to identify the AALL positions and policies on a variety of information policy issues.
2) Participants will learn about the activities of the Government Relations Office, as well as legislative and information policy issues affecting the Association and librarians.

The Annual Legislative and Regulatory Update provides the AALL membership with news about progress with information policy issues and legislative advocacy efforts during the year, as well as pending legislation and administrative actions of particular interest to our membership. GRC Chair Steve Mirsky will present the 2009 AALL Public Access to Government Information and Robert L. Oakley Member Advocacy Awards to our distinguished recipients. He will also provide an overview of the GRC’s work during the past year. Copyright Committee Chair Keith Ann Stiverson and Government Relations Office Director Mary Alice Baish will summarize their year’s activities and accomplishments. In addition,
a guest speaker will be selected in April to highlight an issue of key importance to AALL members.
