K-2 Find 50-State Law Surveys Fast!

Target Audience:
Librarians who answer reference and research requests Learning Outcomes:
1) Participants will learn how to find state laws on many subjects and the proper search terms to use in order to produce relevant results quickly.
2) Participants will learn about the availability of continuing education grants from AALL/BNA.
Cheryl Nyberg, author of the renowned Subject Compilation of State Laws 2006–2007 (An Annotated Bibliography), will take participants on a tour of sites and sources most likely to yield a state law table on virtually any subject. The “usual subjects” will be identified and rounded up, and participants will learn “secret” search terms that produce highly relevant Internet sources. April Schwartz will briefly describe the availability of continuing professional education grants provided by AALL/BNA, which helped fund Nyberg’s presentation at a Dallas Association of Law Libraries conference in 2007, portions of which are being reprised at AALL, Washington, D.C.
